The main destination of this tour is the Norman-Swabian Castle of Garagnone, whose ruins almost blend in with the limestone of the surrounding hills on which it is perched, which is why it is nicknamed the “Invisible Castle”.
This itinerary will give you the opportunity not only to immerse yourself in nature but also to discover the fascinating traces of a distant and not so distant past.
In fact, along the way you will visit a Jazzo, the typical sheep farm of the Alta Murgia. Continuing on, you will have the opportunity to discover a much more recent historical trace – one of the 10 former US nuclear warheads that NATO placed in the Alta Murgia during the Cold War against the Soviet Union. Explore a lesser known place which was at the center of world geopolitics at the beginning of the 60s.
