The tratturi were ancient routes that the shepherds traveled along during the transhumance, when they brought the sheep from the mountainous regions of Central and Northern Italy to spend the winter in the milder and flatter Puglia.
Once inside the Scoparello wood, where you are surrounded primarily by Roverella trees, you will have the opportunity to discover ancient farms and jazzi, and to cycle among trees that once saw shepherds, knights and ladies pass by as this wood had been owned by noble families for a long time.
When we reach the beautiful Jazzo del Demonio, we will make you shiver (hahaha) by telling you the scary story from where this ancient farmhouse took its name.
