Trekking on Mount Croccia, Basilicata (26 May)

One of the most fascinating and panoramic peaks of the Gallipoli Cognato-Piccole Dolomiti Lucane Regional Park, with a long history and wonderful wild nature.

The trekking begins at the foot of the mountain, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding peaks, and then enter the woods, in the shade of large oaks. Cerri, Roverelle, Farnetti, Ornielli and many other trees give this place a unique charm and an intoxicating scent. The top preserves an archaeological area of inestimable value that testifies to the presence of man since prehistoric times: the megalithic complex of Petre de la Mola and the fortified city of Croccia Cognato.
